Following their conquest of Afghanistan, the Taliban committed not to "bear any grudges" or "revenge anyone," as well as not to "repeat any battles."
It comes after the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan two weeks before the US was set to complete the withdrawal of its troops after a two-decade war.
As Afghan security forces and their allies, as well as President Ashraf Ghani, ran for their lives, the terror group stormed across the nation, taking all major cities.
The Taliban had previously declared a ‘amnesty' across Afghanistan, urging women to join their governance on Tuesday, August 17.
A Taliban official also stated that women in Afghanistan will be allowed to work and obtain advanced learning, but that they will be expected to wear the hijab rather than the burka.
After '20 years of warfare,' Taliban official Zabihullah Mujahid told reporters gathered in Kabul that the group had 'emancipated the country and made it independent again.'
‘Every country has the right to seek freedom and independence,' he said. This was our right, and we have used it, and we would like to praise Almighty God for bringing us to this position.'
Mujahid remarked, "We have no animosities with anyone, and we'd like to live in peace." We wouldn't want to have any internal or external adversaries
He stated that the militants had no desire for vengeance and that "everyone is forgiven."
Many Afghans were worried that the Taliban would restore the ruthless rule that they imposed when they were in power, and Western officials have stated that they will wait to see if the rebels follow through on their promises.
