Woman Arrested For Throwing A Caged Cat Into The River

During an argument with her ex lover, a lady was jailed on charges of animal cruelty after reportedly throwing his cat into a river.
Christa Anne Thistle, 53, is accused of grabbing the cat from its container and throwing it into the Riverwood Park Campground river in Oak Hill, Florida, just before 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 19.

Woman arrested after allegedly throwing a caged cat in river during argument with ex-boyfriend

In reaction to the threat, her ex-boyfriend jumped into the sea to save the pet named Stanley, and scooped him up after about 20 seconds.

Thistle and her long-term boyfriend had recently broken up, and they got into a disagreement over him not moving out of the house quickly enough, according to the Volusia Sheriff's Office.

She began removing his items from the camper van, knocking over some cooking food, and then picking up Stanley's cat cage and throwing him into the river.

‘The boyfriend dove into the water to save Stanley, but the cat was only immersed for approximately 20 seconds,' according to a police statement on Facebook.

When deputies arrived, Stanley was still drenched and shivering, and his partner was drenched from the waist down, indicating that he had jumped into the river to save him.

Thistle is adamant that she did not throw the cat into the river.

She was also charged with simple assault after she allegedly demanded to be transported to jail so she could call her ex-boyfriend, get bailed, and kill him.

She is still being held in police custody pending her first court appearance.

The cat is now back to normal.
