The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has rescued an abandoned newborn baby boy in Gusau.
Some people in Ungwan Yerima Community spotted the infant nak'ed in a waste bin and reported it to the NSCDC.
Ikor Oche, a spokesman for the Command, confirmed the occurrence in a statement, saying that the Corps immediately instructed its medical team and intelligence departments to secure the infant's safe recovery.
The baby was discovered without clothes and given necessary medical treatment, according to Oche.
The rescued baby was handed over to the sole administrator of the Gusau local government and then sent to an orphanage home under the watchful eye of the Zamfara NSCDC.
