Nigeria's Hilda Baci dethroned as Irish Chef Becomes New Guinness World Record Holder For The Longest Cooking Marathon

 
 

Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, has been unseated as the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. After clocking up at 119 hours and 57 minutes, Irish chef Alan Fisher currently holds the record for the longest cooking hours.

“Alan Fisher (Ireland), an owner and chef of a restaurant in Japan, has broken two cooking-related Guinness World Records titles. First up, he’s claimed the longest cooking marathon (individual) after clocking in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes. That is more than 24 hours longer than the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.” the British organization stated.

Alan broke the record for the longest baking marathon (person) in addition to the longest cooking marathon. According to Guinness World Records, he completed the task in 47 hours and 21 minutes, whereas Wendy Sandner (USA) held the previous record with 31 hours and 16 minutes.

Even more amazing is the fact that Alan completed both attempts back-to-back, putting in more than 160 hours of work in the kitchen with only a day's break in between!

26-year-old Hilda Baci from Akwa Ibom state was on Tuesday, June 13, officially declared the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon. She made history when she cooked for with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.
