See Photos Of Buildings Destroyed In Last Night's Ibadan Explosion

 

 

The destroyed structure from yesterday night's Ibadan explosion event has been released in pictures by the National Emergency Management Agency's NEMA South West Zonal Office. 

According to NEMA, the explosion that shook the Adeyi Estate in Bodija Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday night, January 16, was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED).

The Southwest Zonal Office of the Agency stated that a distress alert for the explosion was received at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Bodija GRA behind Ace Mall Ibadan.

According to the zonal coordinator, mobilized response agencies were sent to the explosion site. Upon reaching the location, NEMA saw that more than 20 residences had been affected by what seemed to be an IED blast.

The number of casualties reported by the agency was not determined. Rescue and search efforts were still in progress.
