Actress Eniola Badmus Sentenced Nigerian Lady To Jail For Defamation Of Character

Nigerian woman, Okoye Nwakaego was sentenced to three years in prison for defaming actress Eniola Badmus on social media.

The lady said the actress was a pimp who helped arrange deals with politicians, accusing her of engaging in illicit activities.

After an investigation, Okoye admitted that her friend Fortune Ibe—who is presently avoiding arrest—had forced her to make the claims.

The Federal High Court in Lagos's Justice Nicholas Oweibo delivered the verdict on Wednesday, finding Okoye guilty of cyberstalking.

Okoye showed regret after filing a guilty plea, and as a result, the court gave her the choice to forgo jail time in favor of a N150,000 fine.
