Ngozi Ezeonu, a seasoned Nollywood actress, has reprimanded young women for showing up to auditions wearing skimpy clothing, especially without bras.
The seasoned actress was seen speaking to two women during an audition in Lagos in a TikTok video posted by @mrdoingscartel on Wednesday.
She disapproved of their choice to attend the event without bras, querying their intentions and lamenting how frequent it has become.
Ezeonu, 58, renowned for her roles in Nollywood classics like Glamour Girls and Living in Bondage, stated firmly, “Any day I’m on any audition table and anyone comes to me dressed like this, I will disqualify that person.”
As one of the judges at the Lagos audition, she emphasized that such attire is not only inappropriate but also detrimental to the reputation of aspiring actors.
“Who are you trying to impress? That’s why people see us as unserious. I’m a serious-minded actor; you can’t catch me dressed like this, even when I was your age,” she emphasized.
The video has generated reactions on social media. Many praised the veteran actor for promoting professionalism and morality, but some questioned whether her opinions were still relevant in today's entertainment world, which has moved past the standards of her generation.
