91 year old Nollywood Veteran 'Iya Osogbo', Grace Oyin-Adejobi Cries After Birthday Surprise From Toyin Tomato [Photos/Video]

Iya Osogbo, a veteran Yoruba actress who formally retired from acting when she turned 90 last year, has been surprised by a younger colleague, Toyin Tomato, ahead of her 91st birthday on August 23, 2021.

Iya Osogbo is the widow of Oyin Adejobi, a late Yoruba actor who died in 2000.

Toyin Tomato paid Iya Osogbo a surprise visit at her house in Oluyole, Ibadan, and serenaded her with birthday music and dancing, leaving the veteran overcome with emotion.

Some of her industry colleagues, like Kemi Afolabi, Bimpe Akintunde, Omo Alausa, and others, have praised her for doing the right thing to honor Iya Osogbo.

Gist Journal recall in an interview last year, Iya Osogbo, who has appeared in films like as Orogun Adedigba, Kuye, Kootu Ashipa, and others, expressed her gratitude to God.

“It is only by God's mercy that I am able to reach this age. Furthermore, the Almighty bestowed upon me the wisdom of preserving my body and moderation in whatever I do. This is something that our youth should strive to emulate. They should also learn to fear God.

“All of my fans, including colleagues and family members, have agreed to postpone any plans they have for celebrating my 90th birthday since we must follow the COVID-19 preventive measures set down by the NCDC,” she stated.

Iya Osogbo, despite her old age, was still able to dance and move gracefully.
