According to a photo shared online, images of ladies at a Kabul beauty shop were painted over after the Taliban took control of the city.
The Taliban attacked Kabul after gaining control of most of the country and seizing the presidential palace.
It returned the radical Islamist group to power 20 years after US-led forces drove them out.
Although there was no official confirmation as to why the women's photographs were covered up, it is likely that it was done to appease the Taliban.
When the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, women were not allowed to work or attend school.
Women were required to cover their faces and were penalized if they did not. They were also not allowed to leave their homes unless accompanied by a male relative.
Many Afghan women now express concern about how they would be treated under Taliban control, as well as the loss of their rights and freedoms.
Some women started purchasing burqas, which cover the full body, including the face, as the Taliban approached Kabul.
