I was kneeling in front of Maria, asking her to speak with my father.
“Please, Maami, assist me in speaking with Baami,” I said.
She was informed. She softly shook her head.
“All right, I'll give it my all, okay?” Now get up.” She aided me in getting back on my feet
“Where has Eniola gone?” she enquired
“Sleeping.” I said, leaning against her and laying my head on her shoulders.
Since then, we've become close friends.
“Maami, please allow me to take a stroll outside.” I had previously informed her.
I'm leaving the house. I needed to clear my head, so I went for a lengthy walk.
My 'wedding' is less than 48 hours away. I'm counting on Maami to persuade my father to reconsider his position. I simply cannot marry David's father.
I've only recently…. I can't even imagine it…. I arrived at the end of the road and stopped there for a while.
Before returning home, I lingered for a while.
A Range Rover sports car approached. I was almost knocked down. I leaped! What type of insane driver is this? I hissed.
“Hey, baby!” exclaims the driver.
There was a pause in my heartbeat. David approached me on foot.
“I was planning on visiting your home, and… here you are...,” she says.
He was beaming from ear to ear.
I averted my gaze.
I pretended I'd never met him before.
He must be a ruthless tyrant if he isn't…. All the while, you've been contacting me.
“You haven't changed, you're still beautiful.”
“How are things going?”
He attempted to kidnap me. I resisted with my hands.
“Is there anything wrong, baby?” he inquired, perceiving my annoyance
What kind of nasty wind is blowing this David?
Come on in, na!
“What brought you back?” I became enraged.
“I… I apologise... for..”
“What brought you back?” I continued snapping… enraged this time
“I came because of you...” He appeared perplexed.
I rolled my eyes and said, "You came for your father's funeral or wedding?” I mockingly laughed.
“I…yes! Have you heard about the wedding? I heard he's getting married to a lovely lady.
He laughed and said, "Girl." “Do you have any idea who that girl is?”
I grimaced “No, that's not my issue” “All that matters now is you and me.”
“Who are you and who are you?” I enquired.
“Are you crazy, o? Se ori re buru ni ni ni ni ni ni ni
Do I appear to be a trash or a scrap to you? Is it possible to utilize and dump?”
My irritability grew furiously
He began to mutter, "I...I...I...I...I...I...I...I...I...I...I...I...I
“Shut up!!”. Gbeku gbeku! Ori gbeku gbeku! See what I mean?
“Get out jor” I shoved him aside and walked away as quickly as I could
Various plans entered my mind, the best of which I chose. The plan was to flee when I returned home, I awoke Eniola, grabbed my handbag, and snuck out of the house while she tugged at my skirt. I didn't give it a second chance thought if fleeing was the best option.
What will happen to my possessions?
Father and the unexpectedly pleasant maami?
“Where are we going, Mummy?” Eniola enquired as we boarded a taxi
I did not respond.
We were dropped off at the vehicle park by the taxi. I bought a bus ticket to Lagos, and thank God for that just one more passenger was required. We said our goodbyes in less than thirty minutes.
Joy was coursing through my veins. However, my happiness was fleeting.
Boom! We're talking about the bus's two back tyres bursting
“Mummy!” Eniola screamed angrily.
As the truck approached, I clutched her hard.
It somersaulted three times, landed in a ditch, and everything just went black.
