A forensic investigation detailed how Baba Ijesha allegedly inserted a car key into the vag''ina of comedienne Princess' foster daughter.
A child forensic specialist and the Executive Director of Cece Yara Foundation, Olabisi Ajayi-Kayode, presented the forensic report at the Special Offenses Court in Ikeja earlier today.
The prosecution team, led by Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Olayinka Adeyemi, called Olabisi as a witness. According to the child forensic specialist, Baba Ijesha allegedly engaged the girl in sex''ual activity on two occasions when she was seven years old, and once inserted his car key into her vag''ina.
She went on to say that a forensic interview she conducted with the victim revealed the child's engagement and suppression, as Baba Ijesha had asked the minor not to tell anyone.
According to Olabisi,
“He asked the child if he should remove his pe''nis and asked her to sit on his lap.
“He told her not to tell anybody. The perpetrator also inserted his car key into her vag''ina and asked her not to tell anyone.”
Princess became tearful when she revealed that the car key insertion took place in a park where fruits are sold, and she cried as she walked out of the court. She would return to the courtroom later.
While the cross-examination was going on, Baba Ijesha, who was wearing a blue face cap and a black nose mask, appeared in the witness dock. He was not interrogated by the court because his counsel was absent.
A flash drive with video footage of the survivor's interview was also presented by the child forensic specialist.
The judge then promised that video would be shown at the next court session on the case. The case was therefore postponed to the 20th and 21st of October to allow for the introduction of additional witnesses and cross-examination.
Baba Ijesha, who has been charged with sex'''ual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sex'ual assault since April 2021 and was placed in police custody before being granted bail after his arrest on April 22, is facing a six-count charge.
