Zainab Sanni Oyindamola, a 26-year-old member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), was confirmed killed in the 21-story building that collapsed in Lagos' Ikoyi area.
On Wednesday, November 3, the lifeless body of Zainab, who was working for the construction company Fourscore Homes Limited, was rescued from the rubbles, crushing the hopes of her family members who had been hoping for good news.
The deceased's mother was reportedly redeployed from Borno State due to insecurity. ??????

The deceased was one of six Corps members assigned to the company, according to the Daily Trust. But, while others narrowly avoided being caught in the rubbles on that fateful day, Oyindamola was trapped.
According to a source within the NYSC, Oyindamola is the only corps member who has died as a result of the incident.
“Oyin, as she was affectionately known, was a 2021 batch B corps member who was originally posted to Maiduguri but was redeployed to Lagos following the three-week orientation,” according to the source.
Oyindamola resumed work at the company around three weeks ago, according to a family member who spoke with journalists at the location of the incident.
"She has been coming here since then. We don’t even know why they sent her here. She was originally posted to Borno but her mother redeployed her. If we had known, we would have allowed her to continue her youth service in that state, the family source said.
"We asked her not to go to Borno because of the insurgency but she went there for the three-week orientation and came back alive only to come and die. She was a very humble and respectful girl, she would greet everybody when she arrived from work every day. She is the first daughter of her mother and they are just two.”
In the meantime, friends and coworkers have resorted to Facebook to express their condolences for the deceased. Agboola Yusuf Olatunji, a Nigerian woman, shared her images on social media last night.
“She was among the victims of the 21-storey building collapse at Ikoyi but we lost her. May Her Gentle Soul Rest in Perfect Peace. Sanni Zainab Oyindamola Ayinke. We love you but Almighty Allah loves you more.” he wrote.
