Ayo Ajewole, also known as Woli Agba, a Nigerian comedian, has responded to criticism for paying a visit to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
He questioned why people jumped into conclusions after seeing pictures from the meeting.
Some of the country's most popular online comedians, including Josh2funny, were said to have paid a visit to VP Osinbajo, which enraged a number of social media users who questioned why comedians, who are supposed to speak truth to power, are dining with politicians.
In response to the outpouring of criticism, Woli Agba reacted by questioning Nigerians' reasoning.
According to him, this encounter has made him aware of one of Nigeria's current problems. He also insinuated that netizens have been reading ‘lies’ on social media.
He wrote:
“Na ordinary picture una see and you guys had all of these conclusions. Ask whoever cooked the story evidence of his or her presence at the meeting now? Which way Nigerians? Ask now? Why una just dey reason like programmed robot like this? I think for the first time, I am able to know one of our problems in this country. Not even related to any of the lies you guyz are reading. Don’t be pushed common. Omo, I dey here dey thank God o.”
