Senegal will get $5 million (£3.7 million) from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for winning the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
According to The Sportsgrail, CAF will give Egypt $2.75 million (£2 million) for finishing second in the 2021 AFCON competition and Cameroon $2.2 million (£1.6 million) for winning the third-place final (Bronze medal).
After 120 minutes, the AFCON 2021 final match finished in a 0-0 tie. Senegal won the AFCON final 4-2 on penalties at Yaoundé's Olembé stadium in Cameroon on Sunday night, February 6.
The Teranga Lions won their first-ever AFCON when Sadio Mane scored the game-winning penalty.
Mane was selected Player of the Tournament after the end of the 2021 AFCON. Edouard Mendy, a Chelsea goalkeeper, received the best goalkeeper award after conceding just two goals at the 2021 AFCON and saving a penalty in the shootout against Egypt.
Vincent Aboubakar, the Cameroon captain, earned the Golden Boot after scoring eight goals in the tournament.
