Barcelona thrashed bitter rivals Real Madrid 4-0 at the Bernabeu On Sunday night, March 20, claiming their first El Clasico victory since March 2, 2019.
Prior to Sunday's encounter, Madrid had won the previous five meetings between the two teams, but Carlo Ancelotti's side was dealt a harsh awakening as former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice in his first ever El Clasico.
On 29 minutes, Aubameyang gave Barcelona the lead by heading Ousmane Dembele's right-wing cross past goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Then, in the 38th minute, Ronald Araujo scored a powerful header from a Dembele corner to put Barcelona up 2-0.
Former Manchester City striker Ferran Torres made it 3-0 only two minutes into the second half with a powerful finish after Aubameyang provided a beautiful back heel ball.
After a wonderful chipped attempt with his left off Torres' assist on 51 minutes, Aubameyang put the result beyond question with his second and Barca's fourth goal.
The goal was first called for offside, but it was granted after consultation with the VAR.
With the win, Barca moved up to third place with 54 points, 12 points behind leaders Madrid.
