Superstar David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, from Nigeria, has responded to criticism that he refused to play at a concert in Warri, Delta state, even though he was paid to do so.
Amaju Pinnick, the former chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation, had accused the musician of not showing up at "Warri Again" despite earning $94,600 and having a $18,000 private plane arranged for him.
In a video that made rounds on Thursday, Amaju said, “$94,600 on the 6th of April, we take a plane $18,000 but somehow, e say he be big boy, we go tell am say we big pass am.”
Davido responded to these claims by sharing a picture of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) logo, which Amaju Pinnick had previously led, and said he didn't want to go into all the specifics of what happened.
He went on to say that the person who was throwing stones at him lived in a glass house, raising the possibility that Amaju wasn't totally innocent in the matter.
Furthermore, the singer asserted that nobody can prevent him from performing anywhere in Nigeria and that he will perform in Warri in the future.
“🙏🏾 Make I no talk 😂. Dem go feel it. NOBODY CAN STOP ME FROM PERFORMING-ANYWHERE IN NIGERIA … WARRI I WILL SEE YOU SOON . ❤️” he wrote in a series of posts.
