"King Finally Knocks Seven Doors": Reactions As Ooni of Ife, Is Reportedly Set to Marry His 7th Wife

According to reports, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, is getting ready to wed Titilayo Ashabi, who would be his seventh wife. This development adds to the monarch's history of high-profile relationships and marriages that have attracted public attention.

The Oonis' relationship history begins in May 1994, when, while still in Ibadan as teenagers, he and Omolara Olatubosun welcomed their first child, Adeola Aanuolouwapo Ogunwusi. They co-parented Adeola despite never getting married, but in a 2021 interview, Omolara disclosed that the monarch was mostly absent during their daughter's formative years.

The Ooni married Adebukola Bombata in 2008, and they remained together till 2016. Then, in March 2016, he married Zaynab Otiti Obanor. But in August 2017, Zaynab filed for divorce, ending the union.

The monarch wed Prophetess Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi in October 2018. After experiencing difficulties in their marriage, Naomi announced their split on Instagram in December 2021. The palace disputed the separation claims, but Naomi continues to maintain an active public profile.

Between September and October 2022, the Ooni took six wives in rapid succession:

Mariam Anako (September 6, 2022), an Ebira native from Kogi State.

Elizabeth Opeoluwa Akinmuda (September 7, 2022), from Ondo State.

Tobi Phillips (October 9, 2022), from Okitipupa, Ondo State.

Ashley Afolashade Adegoke (October 14, 2022), a princess from Ile-Ife.

Ronke Ademiluyi (October 20, 2022), another Ile-Ife princess.

Asake Temitope Morenike Adesegun (October 24, 2022).

the internet is already ablaze with rumors that Titilayo Ashabi, the seventh wife of the Ooni, will soon become a member of the royal family. The announcement sparked extensive conversations regarding the monarch's personal life and his enduring influence, even though neither the Ooni nor the palace have formally confirmed the rumors.
