TEJUMOLA (EPISODE 8)

I carefully opened my eyes only to close them again almost instantly due to the stinging agony in my eyelids.

Arrrrgh! I shivered. I reopened them on the spur of the moment, only to find Eniola quietly crying.

There was commotion all around me as I peered around everywhere. It was only then that I remembered what we had just done. I had a mishap. When I awoke, I instantly sat up.

A siren was heard, and an ambulance was on its way in our direction

“ye! Haaaa! ooo ooo ooo ooo ooo ooo ooo one elderly lady” As the nurses assisted her to her feet, she shouted.

I was able to get up and drag the bag.

Eniola sobbed her way away from the chaos.

She whimpered, "Mummy, let's go home."

She had a cut on her cheek, on the temples of her head and blood was running down her cheek.

“I'm sorry, baby,”

With my hand, I wiped the blood away.

“Get in the ambulance, young lady!” A nurse said to me.

Me? Return to Ibadan? Please, God, don't let this happen.

“Don't be concerned; we'll be fine.” I responded.

“However, you are not permitted to remain here!” She objected.

“I told you I wasn't coming!” I screamed at her.

She walked away from me and left me alone.

It wasn't long before the entire area was empty. It’s becoming dark. Eniola glanced at me as I sat her on the stone. I felt terrible for her since she was fatigued. When I saw a station wagon approaching, I jumped out of my skin. I instantly flagged it down, and it thankfully came to a halt.

“Please, we're going to Lagos,” she says.

The driver, with his eyes on the passengers

“5,000 naira” the driver said.

“No problem,” I said.

I pushed Eniola into the corner of the car. Despite the fact that I knew the price was too high and costly.

When we got in Lagos, it was already dark.

“We've arrived in Lagos.” Eniola was ecstatic when I informed her.

She continued to chew while smiling at me. I was unsure if she grasped my Gala.

“Can you tell me where we're going? Perhaps we should obtain a hotel room?”

She said innocently, "I don't know."

“Girlie, we have enough money.” The thundering of thunder cut it short.

Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, At the very least, the rain should continue not right now.

“Mummy!” Eniola shrieked and ran to hug me.

She pointed behind my thigh at something. I quickly turned around to find two Agberos staring at me

“What do you have on you?” One of them had inquired.

“Nothing.” I was attempting to relax.

The other yanked my purse from my grasp. Both of them bolted.

“Oh no!” Thief! “Help, thief!” I shouted. No one came to aid, and the entire place was deserted.

I looked at Eniola, who put her hand on my shoulder and wailed.

“Please accept my apologies...” That was all I could say in hushed tones.

She smiled and nodded.

“We're stranded!” I was hoping she'd say yes.

She sobbed and said, "Let's go home."

“No way, honey!” We can't do it! We don't have any...” Thunder rumbled once more.

“Oh no!” I exclaimed.

The rain started as a sprinkle and then became into a downpour, torrential downpours

We both sobbed as I hugged my daughter tightly and shivered in the pouring rain

“Mummy…cold…mummy..cold…” Eniola whimpering. All I could say was, "I'm sorry, my Lil' princess..."

I felt bad about what I'd done. If I didn't do it, and only if I didn't do it…

I cursed David, his family, and everything else.

A bright flash of light flashed around us, and it was a automobile heading in our direction.

Kidnapper! Ritualists! My heart was pounding.

“How did you end up here?” a lady in the car said.

I turned to face her; she was alone, and I was speechless.

I had the impression that I could trust her.

“Could you please take my daughter with you?” I wasn't sure if what I stated was correct.

“How is that possible?” Why?” she inquired.

“Please, madam, she's cold, and we've just walked in.” We arrived late in town and were robbed... We have no idea.

“I'm not sure where to go...” my lips trembled.

She softly shook her head.

“Please come in.” She slid the back seat open.

I didn't think twice; we got in the car and she drove us to her home.
