"Doctor Showed Me Stone Removed from my Kidney" - Actor Olaiya Shares Kidney Surgery Experience [Photo]

Ebun Oloyede, popularly known as Olaiya Igwe, has spoken about a medical treatment he received at Ibadan's University College Hospital (UCH). The nollywood actor recalls his experience in the theatre room in an exclusive interview with BBC News Yoruba.

It should be recalled that Olaiya Igwe was said to have died two months ago in UCH before his family debunked the claim.

The actor claimed that his bodily system was not operating properly, causing him to seek medical assistance at the UCH.
He lamented the fact that his death had been reported prematurely, without a doctor's report. He recommended people to double-check any information they intended to release to the public.
"After the medical check, the doctor informed me that I would need kidney surgery to remove the contents of my stomach. I was initially terrified, but I gathered the courage to proceed. I met a number of professional doctors at the operating room, who told me that I would be well. They urged me not to panic."
He claimed he was astonished when the doctor showed him what was taken from his stomach after the surgery.

“The surgeon playfully asked if they had shown me the Olumo rock they had extracted from my stomach. I had no idea where I was throughout the operation, but I congratulate all of the medical workers who looked after me at the UCH."

He thanked God for saving his life and thanked his supporters for their prayers and financial support at home and abroad.
