Rachel Tetteh, a 27-year-old woman from Ghana's Eastern Region, is accused of beheading her husband.
On Sunday, October 3, 2021, an incident occurred in Tei Glover, an agricultural community near Akyem Bosuso in the Fanteakwa South District.
Police apprehended the suspect, while the headless body of her husband, Lartey Daniel, 35, was taken to the morgue for an autopsy.
According to local media sources, the couple had a misunderstanding about alleged adultery.
The suspect followed the deceased to the farm and allegedly forced him to the ground, then seized control of the cutlass and allegedly cut off his head.
DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the Eastern Regional Police Command's Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the incident to the media, said the police dispatched investigators to the area after receiving information about the crime at about 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021.
According to DSP Tetteh, police discovered the deceased's lifeless body in ash trousers over a white T-shirt, dead in a prone position in a pool of blood with a severed head beside the farm's footpath.
Police took inventories of the crime scene and examined the body.
The body was recovered and taken to the Akyem Tafo Government Hospital Morgue, where it will be autopsied.
According to the PPRO, the suspect was apprehended and the cutlass she used to perpetrate the horrible crime was recovered.
The suspect is presently being held by police as part of the investigation.
