Ani Chukwuemeka, the ailing veteran Nollywood actor, felt relief and hope yesterday after receiving N6 million from billionaire Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, the founder and senior prophet of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri.
While two other actors, who were with Chukwuemeka received additional N1 million, bringing the gift to N7 million, the actor, who is currently battling for his life stated that the gesture from the man of God was shocking.
While relating his ordeal, Chukwuemeka stated that his health had deteriorated in 2020 after a wound in his buttocks was operated on in Owerri.
However, the situation did not improve, as he explained that a specific type of diabetes he was dealing with was exacerbating his condition.
He had made a video begging people to help him live on social media. Yul Edochie, a popular Nollywood actor, had released the video on his verified Instagram profile on the 23rd of October 2021, only last week.
Chukwuemeka revealed in the video that he was also close to going blind as cataract had already developed in one of his eye.
He stated that his deteriorating health condition had progressed to a partial stroke and appealed to Nigerians for assistance.
Fufeyin, who is known for his generosity, claimed he saw the video online and was moved by the actor's plight.
Fufeyin had called out the actor during his church's Sunday service on October 31, 2021, and given him with cash for his medical expenses while praying for him and those in attendance.
Reacting to the gift, Chukwuemeka said
“I want to thank God for this wonderful gesture from the Senior Prophet of God, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin. I am so happy. I never expected this. Even though I know that he helps people financially and otherwise. I never knew he was going to give me huge amount of money like this. I want to thank members of the church. I want to thank the prophet of God.”
Popularly called Owomowomo, Fufeyin has being in the news for the good reason, especially in ways of helping society through his foundation.
In April 2019, he made a similar gesture to Actor Leo Mezie, who was suffering kidney issues, by presenting him with N3 million in the presence of Kanayo O. Kanayo and others. Also in 2016, Prophet Fufeyin provided late actor Ernest Asuzu with an SUV Jeep worth 4million and a 2 million cash gift to help him start a new life, to name a few.
