An Indonesian husband learned that his wife is really a man twelve days after their wedding.
The 26-year-old guy only known as AK first met his wife, 26-year-old Adinda Kanza, on Instagram in 2023. The two went on in-person dates for a year.
Adinda veiled her full face with a traditional Muslim niqab for their in-person encounters, which AK apparently saw as a sign of her dedication to Islam.
Once Adinda revealed to him that she was familyless, the two made the decision to wed in a short ceremony at AK's house.
However, as soon as they were married on April 12, AK had concerns about his new spouse because, she avoided intimacy by telling him she was on her period or feeling unwell, according to the South China Morning Post.
AK said Adinda refused to speak to his family and continued wearing her niqab at home, so he tracked down her former address 12 days after their wedding - and was surprised to find her parents alive and well there.
It was disclosed by Adinda's parents that AK's spouse was, in fact, a guy named ESH who started dressing as a woman around 2020.
They said that they had no idea their son was even dating, much less married.
The police said that Adinda behaved like a woman and had a female-sounding voice, adding: 'If you look at their wedding photos, Adinda looks exactly like a real woman.
There was no doubt whatsoever that he was a lady because of his soft voice and tone.
According to local media sources, ESH was caught by the police and informed them he planned to marry AK to embezzle his family's wealth.
He is facing fraud charges that could land him behind bars for up to four years.
According to the police, ESH liked to date guys while posing as a lady. It was also disclosed that the supposed fraudster has dated women in the past.
The investigation is ongoing.
