Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadan land, has died. The 93-year-old monarch died in the early hours of Sunday, January 2.
The monarch who ruled over Ibadan's 11 local government areas died less than a month after the death of Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Soun of Ogbomoso.
According to sources at the Olubadan's Popoyemoja palace, the Olubadan died at the University College Hospital in Ibadan.
Adetunji was born on August 26, 1928, and was named the 41st Olubadan on March 4, 2017. He was the first of his parents' 17 children.
